Male very similar to male Orange-bellied Euphonia, but yellow more 'pure' (Birds of Peru). Female more uniform yellow-olive without the grey collar.

Note yellow neck all the way to the bill. The Thick-billed Euphonia is common and is more likely to be outside the forest than others.

Found only in the forest. Male has yellow forehead and belly. On female, note yellow throat compared to common Orange-bellied Euphonia.

A tiny euphonia. Note yellow confined to forehead on male, and distinctive white markings on female.

Note lack of yellow in front on male. The female is described as yellow-olive, and having a light colored belly and grey nape.
