One of a three way split of the Grey Elaenia, and found in the Atlantic rain forest but also part of Amazon, and may overlap with Amazonian Elaenia. Male is all grey and white, while female has a grey head and is yellow with yellow wing bars. Always found in the canopy. May have a light colored eye.

One of a three way split of the Grey Elaenia, and found in northwest Amazon. Male is all grey and white, while female has a grey head and is yellow with yellow wing bars. Always found in the canopy.

Note grey head and small white crown that is difficult to see. Wing bars from bright yellow to very pale yellow. Bill black. Usually found in dry forests.

Foothill Elaenia

Range: SA: nc Colombia, w Venezuela, Ecuador and Peru
  The north Colombian race looks more like a Grey Elaenia, but sings like a Foothill Elaenia.

Rare and local. Yellow with yellow wing bars and dark grey crown. Male and female alike. Note similar Amazonian Elaenia female (was Grey Elaenia) has an all grey head, and less contrast between head/crown and body.
