A small bird usually found at lower altitudes. Note upturned bill. Small and fast moving along trunks and dry branches.

A small bird found at higher altitudes than [Plain Xenops] in most parts of its range, but at low altitudes in Ecuador and Brazil. Small and fast moving along trunks and dry branches, chiseling for insects in decaying wood.
