Genus: Amazona (5 species, 31 worldwide)

Genus Amazona, Amazon Parrots, are large (most species around 35 cm.) stocky mostly green parrots with broad wings and short tails. They travel in noisy flocks.

The race from Mexico to Nicaragua has a yellow cheek. A tiny bit thinner, smaller than most Amazon parrots.
