Recently split from the Slender-footed Tyrannulet. The Guianan has a whiter throat, and vocal and DNA differences. It also has a different shape (HBW).

An amazing nest-builder. Note light colored eye. The Guianan Tyrannulet in northeast Brazil and the Guyanas was recently split from this species.
