A tiny hummingbird, especially the female. The races with light rufous puffs were split from the now White-booted Racket-tail.

A tiny hummingbird, especially the female. Because of differences in male mating display, the peruana race of the Booted Racket-tail was split in a three way split as the Peruvian Racket-tail, even though it has a large range in Ecuador and reaches to southeast Colombia.
