Found below 1500m. Small and timid; uniformly streaked yellow and olive from neck to belly. Found at lower altitudes than the similar Streak-necked Flycatcher. Note white mark behind eye.

Note pink black-tipped bill. Generally found in dense forest, but some birds are found outside of the forest (adaptation to deforestation?)

This species was split in 2023 from the Olive-striped Flycatcher found in South America because of differences in bill and song, and only minor plumage differences.
