Genus: Crax (1 species, 7 worldwide)

Crax is one of two genus of Curassow, the largest 'gamebird' in tropical America, ranging from 75 to 90 cm. Male Crax curassow have knobbed bills. Curassow like gamebirds are omnivorous.

Male and female almost identical (female has some white in crest). 'Erythrognatha' subspecies in the northwest part of the range has an orange bill, while others have a yellow bill.
