A tiny hummingbird, especially the female. Because of differences in male mating display, the peruana race of the Booted Racket-tail was split in a three way split as the Peruvian Racket-tail, even though it has a large range in Ecuador and reaches to southeast Colombia.

A tiny hummingbird, especially the female. The male has white leg puffs, and those with rufous leg puffs in the eastern part of the Andes to Bolivia are now considered another species.
