Looks similar to the Rufous Piha. Note longer thinner shape, more like a Myiarchus flycatcher than a thrush. Also redder and more uniformly colored.

Rare and local. Found in sandy tropical Amazon forests in similar habitat to Black Manakin and Rufous-crowned Elaenia (Athanas).
