A large agressive hummingbird. Male and female alike.

Rare. Believed to migrate between altitudes. Female similar to female White-vented Plumeleteer but with a more curved bill. Male has a blue throat.

Female similar to Grey-breasted Sabrewing, but bill longer and straighter, and only the very tail tips might have white.
