Genus: Galbula (1 species, 10 worldwide)

Genus Gabula, typical Jacamars, are green jacamars around 22 cm.. All jacamars have sturdy straight bills and a hummingbird-like shape, and catch dragonflies and butterflies in flight.

Widespread and relatively common. Often considered a large hummingbird by inexperienced birders. Sits on a perch in the open waiting for butterflies or dragonflies. Male has a bright white throat.
